Fritz Island
Fritz Island is a large natural island located just north of the Merrill Barber Bridge in Vero Beach. For over 4 years, AME has been working to clear obstructing brush, quell invasive plants, create trails, and open up the island for greater public, wildlife and recreational use.
F.I.N.D.'s IRC Dredging Basin
Florida's Inland Navigation District, the organization responsible from maintaining Florida's waterways/channels, has begun the process of creating a site to deposit spoil materials dredged from IRC's section of the Intracoastal Waterway. The site is being built in Vero Beach and will serve its section of the ICW. Not only will this process enable better passage of ships and traffic through the channel, dredging is the major act that created livable/farmable land and enabled IRC to become what it is. This project will significantly improve water quality in more ways than one. For the aforementioned reasons, AME fully supports this project.
Building a Skiff
AME is currently working on a 9', self-deigned wooden skiff.
